Wikipedia is a great place to look for any kind of information especially if googling doesn't give you satisfactory results or you need objective, unbiased and balanced view.

The US Dept. of State country fact pages often steal directly from Wikipedia, without citing sources, people, or copyrights.

I love using wikipedia, but as a person who is in charge of one of the entries' maintenance, I think they could do something to make it easier for posters to fit their preferred layout/style guide. They've got these two documents that detail their expectations, but if an entry author is writing only one entry, it's a bit exhaustive to work through.
